Walk around town....

Bubba, Magoo and I spent the afternoon walking around town. My goal was to get in 10,000 steps today. I woke up a little past 6am and walked about a mile and a half around the neighborhood. Then after lunch, the kids and I went for a walk (the long way!) to the library. We then took a stroll through town. Ellie gets very excited when we walk past her school. It's so cute! As of 4pm I walked over 4.5 miles and 12,000 steps!! Woo hoo!! I still have 10 pounds to go to get to my pre baby weight. The last 10 pounds are always the hardest!

Charlie ate his first entire jar of Stage 1 sweet potatoes today. He was freaking out over them. It was so cute!! He tries to hold his bottle, but pulls it out of his mouth. Ellie never held a bottle so it's exciting to see him try. Nice to know with kid #2 we can still experience some firsts!!

Still hot over here...

Yesterday and today both in the mid-high 80's. Yesterday we set the sprinkler up out front. Ellie did much better than she did with it last year, but she's still not a huge fan.

As much as I love the warmer weather (though I could stand for it to be a tad bit cooler than 88, but feel bad complaining because I feel like I was just complaining about it being too damn cold) I HATE the bugs that come along with it. Chris killed a hornet in our bedroom the other day. Wonder why I haven't been sleeping well at night? And just now I killed a bee that was hanging out on the carpet in Ellie's bathroom... WTF! I hate bugs!!! All I could picture was her stepping on it and being allergic. That would be fun considering today I am without a car! So, I put on some shoes and decided to take care of it myself like a big girl. Normally, I would just close the door and put a towel under it to prevent its escape and wait for Chris to get home, but since it was on the floor I figured it would be easy enough to deal with. I am still feeling things crawling all over me. It's just gross. I've checked on Charlie a million times too because he's napping in the next room.

I have to go put Ellie down for a nap because we were invited across the street (they have a 2 1/2 year old and one on the way) to play in their kiddie pool. We'll probably be out past her bed time. I really hope she goes down well.

Bubba's great. He has been eating a lot of bananas and oatmeal. He opens his mouth for it now and isn't as messy.
I'm probably going to make a trip up to MA now the last weekend in May because my sister had to cancel her trip for the weekend before. It'll probably just be a slightly extended weekend since Chris will be here by himself in Jersey. He can't take any time off until the end of June so it will just be me and the kids.

This Week's Shopping Trip!

I spent $70.09 and saved $79.37. It may not seem like I got a lot of groceries, but this week I stocked up on ground beef and chicken (can I get a hell yeah for grilling!). In total I got 8 lbs of ground beef and 7 lbs of boneless chicken breast. I also stocked up on tuna. We really didn't need much this week and our food storage is packed, so I kept it light.
Ohh and check out my year to date savings of $540.38... that flat screen TV has almost paid for itself (yeah right!).

Our first party

We went to our first party today. It was so fun! It was for Chris' coworker's son. He turned 6 today. There were a bunch of kids there and Magoo had a BLAST! We were seriously there all day. Chris got to play some poker and I had a fun time chatting it up with the ladies. Yay to making new friends! Magoo fell asleep the second we got in the car. I am ready for bed myself. Hope you're all enjoying this beautiful weekend!

Moms Club was good!

We all had a great time! Phew.

When I got Ellie out of the car she said, "Look Mommy a rock." I looked over just in time to see her chuck it at the nice Cadillac that we were parked next to. Whoops!

There were about 8 other moms there. One was new like me. All of the kids were around three years old. Bubba will have some friends when he gets bigger as well. AND the park is a mile away from our house and super easy to get to. In the future I'll be hoofing it. Magoo was extremely antisocial when we first got there, but warmed up in the sandbox. I was excited to see her finally start talking to the kids.

I am pretty sure we'll join "The Club" and get started in a regular playgroup. When Magoo starts her preschool I'll start going to one with Bubba. He'll probably be into something like that around then.

Chris would like the park too. There were courts for tennis and basketball and one of those exercise stations (not sure what they are really called, with pull up bars and such) right next to the playground. Fun for all!

Ok, the kids are sleeping. I am going to take advantage and make up the bed in the guest room.

My morning so far...

A neighbor that I haven't met yet just came over because her son locked her out of their house and she had to use my phone to call 911. I am in a white tank top with a black bra that doesn't fit so well. I had just fed Charlie and put him down for his morning nap. I look like hell. The house doesn't look that great either. I am so embarrassed! At least she was nice and pretended not to notice.

Ughghgh....

I am going to suck it up and join a Mom's Club. My first encounter is tomorrow at 11am at a park. Not really looking forward to it, but I know it will be good for me and the kids. The president has a son Magoo's age and another son two months older than Bubba... I know everyone thinks I'm a social butterfly, but at this point in my life it really takes WORK to make friends... maybe they'll just be super nice and it'll be easy. I'll let you know how it goes. Again, ughghgh!

Bubba's First Meal

My friend gave me a bunch of cereal that her daughter didn't use, so we went with single grain oatmeal instead of rice cereal. It's not a big deal as long as it's single grain... and I'm sure oatmeal tastes a hell of a lot better than rice cereal anyway. He wasn't so sure of it and still has a bit of his tongue thrust reflex left, but it was good practice. I don't think a drop made it to his belly, but as you can see from the photos, it was a lot of fun!!

My shopping adventures...

Ok, this is a bit late. We went grocery shopping on Monday night. This is what I bought:
And this is what it cost me: $53.10
I thought this was a pretty succesful trip. The receipt shows that I saved $51.60, but at ShopRite certain items ring up automatically on sale, so I could just walk in and pay that sale price no coupons and no store card. It aggravates me that they don't list that on the receipt because it would have showed a higher percentage of savings. Oh well 50% will have to do I guess!!
